We have new candidates! Yeah the program keeps going.
It got a little weird for a couple weeks, not enough donations coming, not enough answers from court system...
But it seems that the general slowing down didn't hurt too badly. Of course the donations we receive are smaller, but not less generous.
We are preparing for Christmas, and probably we'll have to give less this year.
Usually a family bag includes bath towels, bed sheets, a blanket, a sweater or coat and socks and gloves for each family member, and a little bag of toys for the children and teens.
For this year we don't know yet.. I'm confident that whatever we got will be what we need. :)
Also I may get a new office. My desk will be moved in a co-worker's office!
I'm really happy about it!
4 reasons:
- it will be warmer (heated part of the building)
- it will be quieter (I work in the computer room, where we get very loud classes in the morning, and very loud teens in the afterschool program)
- it will be less lonely!!! Youhou I need company! I like to work by myself, but all day long it begins heavy and I just walk around and chat with the receptionist, pretending I need a coffee...
- I will be more focused. Sometimes I'm daydreaming. If there is someone working in the same room that keeps me motivated.
Previously "a frog's life", we now are settled in France, probably for a few more years. We now have two kids and big plans for our little garden. A sort of old fashioned American homestead 20 miles from Paris.
