Best Christmas ever :)

This Christmas was like no other.
Early the 24th the little guy got sick, his first time being sick :( It was really a pitiful sight.. he was as white as the sink, throwing up and leaking from every end.. I got a bit scared when I gave him a bath and he kept falling asleep, in the bath, on the changing table, in my arms, etc. I put him back to bed and he slept till 7 am or so, then I fed him and took him with us to keep an eye on him and keep him warm.. By 9 am he had some color back on his cheeks :)

We had lots of time to relax on the 24th which was very welcome :)

I had been away form my parents the past 3 Christmases. I was anxious about going to their place again for a Christmas eve... I was happy and excited but a bit worried also because of my dad's weird comments about my baby and my sister's son who died recently..
It ended up being a very nice evening. :)
We had diner but didn't make it to the midnight mass, everyone was tired and our baby kept crying and crying and would NOT fall asleep..
We left around 11pm when everyone was getting ready for bed.
My brother in law is buddhist and he has always been scandalized by the number of gifts we exchanged at Christmas (even though I don't think it is that many.. usually one per person so that's 3-4 per capita..and nothing extravagant) anyway we decided to draw secret santas this year..
I got my sister and it was not too easy, I really wanted to spoil her.. But we just got her a scarf and a game board.
My husband got my mom's name and he brew a special beer for her with coriander and beautiful labels with her name.

My dad received my name and he offered me cute gloves which is perfect because I needed some
and my mom got M. L. she offered him a swiss knife! :) really good pick too.

On Christmas day we woke up around 8 am and called my father in law on sky*pe. He works for a newspaper and finishes really late, which is perfect for us because we got to spend Christmas morning with him. We opened presents online!! lol

I received a beautiful outdoorsy set: a super warm woolen blanket, an atlas of America's national parks, a flannel pajama and the most awesome coffee thermos. There was even coffee in it!! from the night before :)

Then we went to Christmas mass. After that we had brunch and went on a GREAT two hours walk, with caroling and all :)

Later in the afternoon we visited with our british friends and had some mincepies and crackers.
And we finished that beautiful day by watching millions a beautiful and enjoyable movie (with lots of saints!! )

What a great picture of your son and husband! He looks like a miniature version of his dad; they're in the exact same position. :)

Best wishes for a peaceful and fulfilling new year.
