Internet friends :)

A few weeks ago I told my husband about my internet friends. We were out for brunch and I could tell him about my bloggy friends as if I had meet them in real life. I think I share actually a lot more here than with my French friends. And i know details about other people's lives that I would probably not know in real life. Because for some paradoxal reason we have more time online. When something bothers us, we can think about it, try to put words on it. And often post something about it. And if you're like me you may spend 2 hours writing a small post. And then you feel better. First of all you actually put words on it. And second, sometimes you get feed back, encouragements, tips and advices.
Also I think internet friends share a deeper level of interest on some topics, I mean obviously they took the time to post about what they care most about, like their faith, their parenting philosophies, some social problems...
When I started this blog I wanted to clear my mind and organize my thoughts, make sense out of the conflicting messages I get everyday.
What I didn't expect is that I would get friends out of it. :)
I was surprise by the amount of support and nice gestures I got from internet. Especially so far from my older friends and family, it is very much appreciated. Thanks for your friendship. :)
If you have never commented this would be a good time to de-lurk and introduce yourself. :)

I think these posts are funny because we are all in the same boat. When I want to quote a "blogger friend" to a "real life friend" I stop myself when I am about to say how I know the blog friend.
People who don't blog...well they don't get it.

I feel the same way...I started to blog because I enjoy writing so much. Writing things down is so therapeutic. Then: I made friends! I am still in awe of this aspect of blogging. I am one of those people who would love to talk about details and deep things with people, but how much can one talk about to a stranger in line at Walmart? I do have my real life friends, too....but blogging friends are very special to me. In fact Tiphaine, I have told my two daughters who traveled to France this summer that you are moving back, and they are full of questions...I told them to just ask you...(where you will live, what it is like there, ect.)....anyway, I am glad I "met" you, and am so excited that you are having a baby....thank you for sharing!!!
