I am so excited about it! We would probably move early in February. That's just a few weeks ahead. WOW.
We had someone from international movers come to evaluate how much it will be to ship stuff to France. It would be cheaper than buying everything all over again. But it's still a budget! So I'm already trying to mentally limit what we will send in the cargo. We can probably sell a few things on craigslist, and trim out many easy to find things. Clothes is definetly something we can reduce easily and buy new there. And we will need the new outfits: me for gaining belly, Mr L for losing it! :)
When we moved to get here I thought I decluttered a lot. But there is still more we can get rid of. Everything we won't take with us can reduce the price, and at this point we will need every dollar we have for when we arrive in France.
On the money front I can now help :) I just started looking at jobs in Orleans (where we'll probably be). It is not as good in term of job opportunities as Paris, but I'm sure I can find something. And I know a few people who can give me tips and leads. I will look for jobs in retirement homes for now. And maybe some cultural jobs, and city hall administrative positions. If I can find something I can always fly there before Mr L. and start looking for a place. I hope I can find something before baby is here, because I was hoping to take my time to return to work afterwards, and spend as much time as possible caring for the little one. But we'll see. I'll take it one day at a time, and today is time for job search, resume organizing and networking.
I am so happy to get closer to family. And February is perfect. My mom's birhtday is the 16th and my sister will have her baby boy at the beginning of March. Oh also my parents 30 years anniversary is in July (July 12th ahaha) so I can help organizing (and hopefully I can also attend!).
