You've got mail!!!

The cherry red swap, part 2

I received it!
I couldn't believe it actually worked! I did receive the swap!
And it is wonderful :)
Here is what I received:
- a nice little note saying how she saw I was pregnant and made special stuff for me :)

- a little bag to store sun glasses, full of candy for now. ( I try really hard to stay away from sweets so Mr L is going to be happy.. but I had one piece still..)

- a tea box made of fabric
I put the candy in here for now so I can use my sun glasses pocket right away!
- and last but not least an adorable little jacket for baby C.
made of fleece and size 6 months, perfect to fit him around Christmas ;)

This is really nice! What a good surprise!

Swap

Have you ever done a swap?
I did a couple "round robins" when I was a teen. You embroider something on a big piece of fabric, on a theme of your choice, like "wild flowers" and then you send it to the next member of the round. In the mean time you received a new fabric with a theme chosen by someone else (like "victorian christmas") and you embroider something on this new fabric and the round goes round till you get your original piece back. It is covered with beautiful design and you got to enjoy (or not) other people's choices too..
I had quite a lot of fun with those..

Anyway I recently joined a swap, and yesterday I was supposed to post about it.
So here it is, one day late...

A swap is almost like a round robin, except it's not about cross stitch. You just prepare a package for someone unknown and hope to receive one yourself.
I say hope because I'm not always lucky in that kind of thing..

so here is the blog from the lady who will send me something
here is the lady who received my present (YAY she received it and liked it!)
and here is the one who organized it all

The theme for everyone was "cherry red" and we were to send a decorative object, some sweets/candies/treats and a card

Most ladies in that swap have a blog about home decoration in French so I felt a little off.. but that's ok ;)

I'll update when I receive mine :) (hopefully)

back to facebook...

So after telling all about leaving facebook a few months ago, I joined again this week. Ah.
Maybe I have too much time on my hands... ;)
Well really what motivated me was to keep in touch with friends and family abroad. It's easier to share pictures that way.
Except of course I haven't been able to upload any picture yet!
oh well I hope to upgrade my computer soon and get to it.
I am also quite happy to have more insight into some internet friends, people I know from discussion forums.

I am hopeful that I can use the privacy settings with more discernment.
For example I'm thinking about sharing this blog address or/and the french one on a restricted part of my profile. I don't consider there is much secret stuff here but this is personal and important to me and I don't want to get random comments from random people. i like that I can make lists of friends and allow only some to access certain info or photo albums.
Also Joni, who so nicely commented the other day, thank you! I haven't got back to you but the only thing private about here is that it's not listed on google... I don't mind people coming from other blogs or comments.

I haven't posted much lately but I'm really interested in your opinion and use (or not) of facebook. Please take a minute to comment if you can...
