Hospital

Hello from Tiphaine's husband, guest blogging for the day since we're in the hospital waiting for our new baby!

This is as much a surprise to me as it may be to some of you - our expected due date was between July 14th and July 20th, but I'm quickly learning that babies operate on their own schedule.

In short, Tiphaine had gone to the hospital on Friday for a routine checkup with her midwife. Turns out her BP was quite elevated (170/100) and there were a few other issues pointing towards preeclampsia. Of course, I freaked out like a good husband, but felt better when I found out that while not "normal," preeclampsia symptoms can be common towards the very end of pregnancy. So on Saturday when we returned for a second visit, the doctor told us they were going to induce.

As of now Tiphaine is doing fine, although she's having a few contractions and some back pain. I'll post more updates later on as things progress.

Also - let Tiphaine know that I passed the news along to the delphi board for maximum prayer and moral support. :-)
