adventures in France

We arrived in France on Easter Saturday.
I went to church with my mom for Easter vigile, it was awesome! I'm so glad I was there for Easter. I wish Phil would have come with me, but he was so tired.. He didn't sleep in the plane and was out of order.. Better rest for good than be cranky for the rest of the trip...
Anyway it was a very beautiful Easter Vigile, with 10 young kids baptized. And they read all 7 readings.. I wanted DH to see it, because catholics rituals can be long sometimes, but they are so meaningful and I wanted him to see it, to experience the fire of Easter.. Oh well he'll have plenty of occasions to join an Easter Vigile.. :)

Anyway, I slept through Sunday mass.. oops. We had a fun Easter at home, with my sister and cousin, and their little kids. They went egg hunting in the garden and we all had a great time. :)

Monday my cousin took me out for a girls day out. It was GREAT. Oh boy I was so surprised to see my friends, they prepared a whole day out for me: pic nic, hammam, bowling, snack, diner and karaoke. We had a BLAST!!

Then on Tuesday and Wednesday I spent some time with hubby in Paris. The best part was wednesday morning, we went to Versailles palace and rented bikes. It was so relaxing, and fun. What a great feeling!!

Thursday we picked up Dave from teh airport, and prepared stuff for the following Saturday (wedding-family gathering) Mr. L. went out for cigars and diner with his friend and my cousin's husband. They had fun but Dave choked on a piece of meat and got sick...

Friday I tried to finish up the preparations, but Dave was still sick, we went to the doctor.. I was really exhausted and stressed out. We slept about 5-6h every night for a month or so... and we had a diner that friday night with all family coming from far. I also was very much looking forward to preparing flowers. I love doing flowers and we were going to harvest some in the forest with my sister and cousin, more girls talk :)
Anyway Dave went to sleep with some medecine the doctor gave him, and right after diner we left too. Dave was so sick he couldn't even swallow the medecine, so we took him to the ER. It was 10:30 PM. After waiting about 1:30 at the hospital we realized no one was to take care of him for hours... So off we went to an other hospital, an other ER... This time they seemed much more professional. He got someone to take care of him around 2 AM. What a night!!! It was very stressful, especially as the poor guy didn't drink or eat anything since thursday night...
Anyway the following morning was very busy (final wedding preparations) and every one was very stressed. But that semi awake state was a blessing :) Every thing went well and we are so glad his friend is safe and alive!!!

Anyway Saturday was the wedding. :)
Sunday we had family lunch, then we went for a little ride in the car, and ended up 200 km away! We had a great time in Burgundy and came back late...
Monday we stayed around the house to finish packing up and helping my mom tidying stuff..
And tuesday we met the photograph and took the plane back.

This vacation went back so fast!!
My top 3 moments were:
1- the bike in Versailles
2- the girls day out
3- the celebration

Oh, man! FRANCE! I just cannot believe it! I always wanted to go to France, but I have always been intimidated since I'm not so good at speaking french. Did you happen to take any pictures while you were there??
