community

Every first Thursday of the month we have an hour of adoration in the chapel, in the house where I work. That's thanks of the founders of our program, who are sisters of the Gospel (Charles de Foucauld)and a missionary priest.
I like this time apart. Not much happen in appearance... Silence, a few songs...
But this is where we build the community. Without words.
Almost like when we fill a new intake form for a new family in need, just like when we receive a new resident, or a new child for the afterschool. Except we bring all of those events together, pray for and with our new members, for and with the staff, for the people absent, sick, in need..
I like the line of the three kings: "We have come to adore Him..."
They bring myhra, incens and gold.
(myhra is for a perfume for dead corpse for the Human person of Jesus, incense is the present for God, and the gold for the king)
the same way we go to this hour with our presents: giving a little time, a little attention, a little of our lives, with the myrha of our worries, our little everyday deaths and our big griefs, with the incens of our hesitant prayers, with the gold of our love.
