From winter to summer

This week has seen high ups and low downs..
It felt like spring would never come.. Low temperatures, lots of rain, I ran out of things to do with the kids.. which happens pretty quick seeing our main occupation is the park across the street..
Wednesday I went to visit my parents and spent the day there. It made me feel much better, simply to visit, sit down, and even if the house is not spotless I didn't care, because I'm not the one in charge of it! :)
And all in a sudden summer was there! :D
oh happiness! the sun was out and shining.
it makes a world of a difference.
Since we had nice weather we went from spending 1 or 2h in the park to 5 hours a day!
And here are all the fun things to do there:
-animals. There are geese, and goslings right now! And sheep, and a ram, and goats, and even a kid right now, lots of ducks, one swan every now and then, horses and donkeys, countless birds and bugs to observe.. and latest addition: a runaway rooster!
The park is not a petting zoo. They have sheep in the mott to mow the lawn, goats and donkeys for the public I guess..And the horses are mounted and patrolling on summer days.
All the others, including the runaway rooster, came on their own.

going chicken hunting! lol

The park also hosts a modern art museum.. the outdoor collection this summer is about feeling good! I'm all for it. So they turned 20 of the pic nic tables into hammocks. Yay!!!

In the garden this week, we harvested:
lettuce,
one strawberry (lol)
about 10 cherries
some spinach, just enough for one person for lunch :/
and that's it so far
the cherry tree near the raised beds is definitely sick, there are only a handful of green dried cherries on it.. we are thinking about taking it down.
the cherry tree in the front yard is doing better, we hope to get a ladder before the birds eat it all.
