keeping up with a blog..

I don't have much inspiration for blogging these days... My life is very focused on myself right now: taking care of the house, doing the garden, growing a baby.. I don't have much stuff to say of any interest..
But I like reading about my blogs' friends lives, so I'll post an update anyway.

These are orties, urticant plants, not quite like poison ivy but if you touch one you might remember it for a while..
And here is a close up:
this information, my friends, will be useful when you come and visit me ;) So now you know which plant not to touch in Europe..
Not like you'd need the information in my garden... I just spent an hour pulling on the long strong nasty yellow roots of those dear plants! That was a real workout!!
But really no desherbant will kill the thing, you can't really get rid of it, but taking most of the roots away is a good first step...

In the past few days we also received our cargo from Chicago, with all our stuff! YAY! Including power tools (battery operated, but we still need to get an adaptator for the battery charger), a big green egg bbq and Mr L's electric guitare. :)
Can't wait to have people over!!

About the baby all is fine so far. I got a little scare about gestational diabetes as I first tested undoubtly positive, but further testing was completly fine..
I'm a little confused as to what happened on the first test, so I keep good resolution more strictly such as no sugar (or once a week for social life, like Easter cake!!!!) and eating less, I'll be hungry anyway..
But I take cheese for snacks :)

The cheese guy is my best friend on the market. Evry Wednesday I go to his booth and ask what's good today, and he finds me some good deliciousness and even gives some suggestions of recipes! :)

Yesterday I went on a date with Mr L. I met him at work and we went to eat in a brasserie in Paris, it was cute and delicious and very well priced, not an expensive tourist trap at all. We had a great evening. Then our train was a little delayed but I'm used to trains surprises and nothing could have spoiled that evening! :)

Oh and I also got a silk dress from a shop that is closing, or maybe only changing their collections.. not sure which but the dress was 40 € instead of 200€!! in SILK!!
I wouldn't get the fabric alone for that price.. and that will be great for more dates and the few weddings we are invited to.. :)
Even from the USA I believe you can try..
You can buy under "soir et cocktails" or "future maman" (evenings and expectant moms) then I would suggest babelfish for translation, basically for each design you pick your color and size (US size= european -30, if you're a 12 you'll need a 42)and off to ordering! :)
they deliver in the USA I just checked!

Hopefully by the time I receive the dress I'll have some kind of camera... :)

This week end we are going to my parents' place for Easter, I'll do the cake! I have been dreaming of this cake for weeks now..

Happy Easter everyone!!
