More "boring" posts on Mary's blog
I need to instaure a mail day. How about Monday-Mail? Because I have many emails that go unanswered, I feel like i need to take time to write a long detailed answer, and then it just waits weeks. Same for regular mail. I love to find the right card, or make it and then it can be weeks or more..
Yesterday I got stickers: a glittery "little one" (baby-stuff) for my sister and some gymnastics for my god daughter. I love stickers. I'm glad I don't do scrapbook because I would spend so much money!!!
It's almost 11 am here and I'm still in pajamas! This happens very rarely. We had late breakfast, taking time to just hang out with a cup of coffee. It's nice every now and then.
Today we might go to visit friends (the newly weds and the couple who had a baby last month) for the Iowa game. I like football. Only not too often ;) Anyway this is a good occasion to see people. And tomorrow I go to a meet up for grad student doing their applications. I don't know if I want to get back to school, so talking with people in the process may help me figuring it out. I would apply only if I can get a scholarship, so I need to look into those.
Mr L is playing Xbox and I'm doing research for green cards and paper work.
I don't know if I really want a green card. The application process takes months.. and I can't leave the country during the process. Which means no visiting family :( I miss them.
Ideally I would like a temporary resident card, that allows me to look for a job, or not actually. Just some kind of 2 years visa would be nice.
I hope to move to France within a few years, as long as my parents are in a good shape. And we could still visit the US.
The green card process is all complicated, you must really want to be legal to go through it.
But then in France we'll have the same kind of paperwork, only for Mr L. The easier part is that he works for a Canadian company, so he won't really need a working permit for France right away..

I'm afraid that getting a temporary work visa is not much simpler than the permanent residency card! You might be able to get a nonimmigrant visa as a visitor fairly easily but you wouldn't be able to work. If you want to work, you have to find an employer willing to sponser your visa petition, and then your visa is only valid as long as you hold the approved petition. Going back to school might turn out to be simplest!
I do the same thing with mail. Pajamas and coffee til late sounds great!
Good luck with the whole green card thing or school. It is difficult to be between things without options.
