Thursday was thanksgiving. Phil invited two friends over and two friends of one of them. We started cooking the morning and when they arrived we were not done, that didn't seem to bother anyone. They played wii in the living room until the dinner was ready. They also put the football game on.
We had a HUGE lunch with many side dishes. They we all played wii again. That was very fun, we played bowling and golf and boxe.
I must say I was surprised.
My husband is always the first to tell me to not do this or that because it's rude, but it doesn't bother him that we let the guests by themselves for an hour or two...
I was surprised also because when they left I realized I didn't get to know those people. I don't even remember the names of the two new friends..
I'm happy that we had a nice thanksgiving but I must say I'm slightly disappointed by the whole experiment...
Or maybe is it just that this big family holiday reminded me how much I missed mine..?
Previously "a frog's life", we now are settled in France, probably for a few more years. We now have two kids and big plans for our little garden. A sort of old fashioned American homestead 20 miles from Paris.
