For those unlucky who ignored it, "poutine" is the name of a french canadian delicious dish:
a layer of french fries, a layer of cheese and a layer of gravy.
I usually don't like french fries that much, but I do love poutine :)
Saturday night I came home after a loooooooong day at work, and found my dear husband had made me some!
Here are some pictures of the deliciousness!
Recipe:
- homemade french fries (cut potatoes with or without the skin, fry them in oil, we used 4 big poatatoes)
- grated cheese (not too much)
- gravy:
5 tablespoon of butter, let it melt slowly
out of fire add 3 table spoon of flour, mix them together until it looks like a paste. Back on fire, let it cook for 1 min, always stirring.
Slowly add a cup of beef broth, still stirring, when it thickens add an other cup of broth... and again and again. 4 cups of broth total.
Alternate layers of fries/cheese/gravy until your bowl looks full enough to you, or you run out of ingredients. Add a last ladle of gravy on top because fries tend to "drink" up the gravy...
ENJOY!!
