My job is to "supervise" the residents.
Difficult to find the right balance between them feeling home, in a friendly atmosphere, and having them respect the rules and actually do something.
We have a couple young fellows, less than 30 years old, and they are acting like teenagers. You know the whole testing the limits thing...
But I learn a lot! I learn to be more strict, to be more exigent, to express more clearly what I think.
I also re-evaluate my motivations and my beliefs.
I feel sorry when I see a young person excluding himself from the rest of the world, deciding that he himself is not worth the try. I feel even more sorry for that guy's daughter, sorry that the thought of her doesn't make him stronger...
